Platform is a new bar and restaurant in the busy London Bridge area. Championing the best of British brasserie cuisine, the restaurant boasts an unique ‘Gate to Plate’ dining experience through its partnership with a Devon farm, meaning it can offer its customers choice cuts of meat (the chefs get a whole carcass rather than pre-packaged parts), naturally farmed and at and at a fair price for the farmer, the restaurant and the customer. The bar also features organic apple cider, made on the same Devon farm as well as many popular wines and traditional beers and spirits. Offering a set breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, plus an a la carte menu and an all day bar snacks menu, Platform is set in a two-floor building under the railway arches. The ambience caters perfectly for both after work drinking, with the spacious downstairs bar area, and for dining, in the upper brick vaulted arch area next to the beautiful mirror ball feature. Its menu is varied, with dishes including ‘Mother Hubbard’ Coq Au Vin, Parsley Mashed Potato and Brussel Tops and Stonebass Fricassee, Braised Baby Gem, Carrots, Onions, and Jus Gras, and priced fairly enough that it is the perfect destination for a spot of lunch or as a meeting place with clients and colleagues.
